2017 - A Year to Remember

Dear Friends,

2017 was truly a year to rember at P World.

We kicked off the year with the fourth edition of our Global PR Summit in Istanbul, Turkey. With delegates from 22 different countries, the Summit, this year, cemented its position as THE place to be for PR professionals from Turkey, Middle East and Africa. More importantly, this year, for the first time, the Summit was also supported by the Turkish PR Association (TUHID). We would like to use this opportunity to thank the association for the support and we look forward to continuing our strategic cooperation for the 5th annual edition of the Global PR Summit Istanbul, scheduled to take place on February 23rd at the InterContinental Hotel in Istanbul.

In March 2017, we took the Marketing Kingdom for the second time to Amman in Jordan. In collaboration with ZAIN, Jordan’s leading telecommunications company, the event included presentations by marketing and social media professionals from Twitter, Facebook, Hug Digital, Royal Jordanian, Hotels.com and Rolls Royce Motor Cars. The next edition of our Marketing Kingdom conference will take place on March 1st in Manama, Bahrain.

2017 was the year that we organized our first ever event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The fourth edition of our Global PR Summit Middle East took place in April in Riyadh and was the first ever event in the Kingdom to include presentations by global PR and social media experts. We would like to use this opportunity to thank TRACCS, our exclusive event partner in the Kingdom, as well as Saudi Telecom and Meltwater for supporting and believing in our event.

In May 2017, we took our Global HR Summit for the second time to Montenegro. Continuing our mission of bringing global expertise to the Balkan region, the Global HR and Leadership Summit Montenegro was the first ever event in the country to feature speakers from global super brands such as Facebook and Google. In 2018 Belgrade and Ljubljana are scheduled to host, what has become, the region's most important HR event. 

Later that month, we also organized our first ever crisis communications workshop in Skopje, Macedonia. With Donald Steel as a trainer, this interactive workshop helped over 80 PR professionals from Macedonia understand the latest trends in crisis and reputation management.

June was a truly historical month for us at P World.

We kicked off the month with our first edition of the Global PR Summit in Belgrade, Serbia. It was amazing to be back in the country where we organized our first ever P World event (the Corporate Communications Experience in March 2011) and meet so many of our friends without whose help and support we would have never been able to take the Summit to 22 different countries. Our gratitude goes to the Serbian and Croatian PR associations for always supporting our events and to the amazing Tamara Bullock, who helped us put together an exclusive panel with some of the region’s leading CEOs on day one of the Summit.

2017 was a year to remember for everyone at P World. After seven years of hard work, we finally managed to bring our Global PR Summit to the United States. The Global PR Summit New York, took place from 9-10 June at the World Trade Center in NYC and was the first ever event in the US supported by all major local and international PR associations. A big THANK YOU goes to PRSA, IABC NY, PCNY, IPRA, PRCA, ICCO, Women in PR and the Hispanic PR Association for landing us their support and for making our first ever event in the US such a great success. The success of our Global PR Summit in New York would also not have been possible without the generous contributions by DS Simon, Business Wire, Newsmeter and ICICI Lombard. Named “the UN of the global PR world” by O’Dwyers, the second edition of our Global PR Summit New York will take place from 7-8 June at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway.

After a short summer break, we kicked off the Fall season with our first ever HR event in Skopje, Macedonia. Our Global HR Summit Skopje, organized in cooperation with Kariera.mk, Macedonia’s leading recruitment platform, was the first ever international HR event in the country and the first ever event to include a presentation by HR expert from Facebook. With 300 delegates in attendance, the Global HR Summit Skopje positioned itself as the region’s leading gathering of international HR professionals.

In October 2017, we organized the third edition of our Marketing Kingdom conference in Cairo, Egypt. With presentations by Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, IBM, Rolls Royce Motor Cars and Anghami, the Marketing Kingdom Cairo 3, one more time proved to be Egypt’s leading marketing event and the only event in the country to feature presentations by global marketing experts from the world’s leading brands. As always, the Marketing Kingdom Cairo 3 would not have been possible without the support of our amazing friends from Digital Boom and Think Marketing Magazine. We would also like to thank DMS- the leading marketing agency in the region for helping us make the Marketing Kingdom Cairo 3 such a great success.

This year, we organized the sixth edition (yes, the sixth edition!) of our Global HR Summit in Zagreb, Croatia. It goes without saying, that in the past six years, the Global HR Summit Zagreb has positioned itself as Croatia’s most important HR event and the only HR event in the country to continuously feature speakers from the world’s leading brands showcasing the latest trends and challenges in the global HR world.  

In October 2017, we also organized the fourth edition of our Global HR Summit in Istanbul, Turkey. The Global HR Summit Istanbul 4  was once again a major success. With delegates from across the region, the event remains a meeting point for HR professionals from Turkey and the region.   

2017 was also a historical year for our Global HR Summit. This November, we took the event, for the first time ever, to North America, in Montreal, Canada. The Global HR Summit Canada was Canada’s first ever international HR event and included presentations by global HR experts from Facebook, Shazam, HSBC, Google and MasterCard. The success of our first North American HR event would not have been possible without the support of Le Coop and Workday and on behalf of our entire team, we would like to thank them for believing in our company and helping us bring our event to North America. We are back in Canada next April with our Global HR Trends Summit Toronto.

We wrapped up this year’s event season with the second edition of our Global PR Summit Canada. Supported by CPRS, IABC Toronto, IPRA, Women in PR and Eureka.cc, the Global PR Summit Canada 2 included two days of interactive presentations by global PR and social media experts from Shell, Edelman, Reuters, Heineken USA, Ketchum and John Hopkins Medicine.  Our next PR event in Canada is the Crisis Communications Boot Camp in April in Calgary.

Finally, as we wave goodbye to 2017, we would like to use this opportunity to thank, on behalf of everyone at P World, our amazing speakers without whose support and guidance our mission of changing reality would not have been possible.
